Looking out the window at the grey and miserable day, you would think it was winter. I know, I know, it is the first day of winter but really?! Sleet and snow? That's it ... I'm leaving!
And I have ... today ... for three (hopefully warmer) months. I was going to be leaving earlier but things went pear-shaped on a lot of fronts. Maggie was getting VERY worried what with all the packing and cleaning but she is happier now that she's in the van. It will be great having her with me although I have told her she isn't allowed to bring home any nasty infections or bugs this time.
Originally I was going to travel inland and meander my way around central New South Wales before heading to Brisbane and further north. But considering the freezing temperatures, perhaps Queensland is a better immediate destination. Whatever! I have no firm plans and a lot of time to do whatever takes my fancy.
